Winnacunnet High School hosted the Marine Silent Drill Team on June 22. While the team does not typically visit high schools, its current Platoon leader, SSgt Woolford served in Iraq with Winnacunnet’s new Marine Instructor, SSgt Strong, and the team flew in from Washington at Strong’s invitation.

WHTV’s Christian Armstrong spoke with the public affairs spokesperson and files this report

A Marine relies on two things: his rifle and his brothers, which is evident here. This is true perfection and I couldn’t take my eyes off of them. My husband explained to me years ago that a Marine is taught from day one that their rifle is their wife, their girlfriend, their lover. Do you see the way these men caress their firearms? The essence of this is buried deep within the performance, and I now understand.

I just wish the audience would have remained silent for the duration.

Attending one of their presentations is now at the top of my Bucket List. Thank you, Men.
